Figurative Language

This week we did figurative language week.

The first one we did was simile a simile is comparison of two things using ''like or ''as

The second one was we was hyperbole. Hyperbole is  exaggerating to show strong feeling and effect.

A metaphor  is  two things that are compared without using ''like or ''as.

Personification is giving humans traits to objects or idea.

The last one we did was understatement.

  1. Kia Ora Dezy, I really liked your simlies, hyperboles and the metaphor you wrote about Mr Ogilvie. I think your similies are as exciting as fireworks. What is the purpose of these text features? Where would you most commonly see them being used?

    Awesome work,
    Miss Pryde
