Activity 1: New Zealand Royalty

This week is the Manaiakalani SLJ Teaser Week. Today I worked with Angela and Xaivier to make this profile poster about Lorde. I was surprised that lorde writes songs and sings songs.

Basic Facts

Today I did a today's number and I only got seven ticks.

My Morning

 (YES) I was so excited for term four 

(First) in the morning  I have breakfast. I have coco pops for breakfast sometimes
I have weetbix for breakfast. Then I wash my bowl,spoon and then let it dry then I pack the
bowl and spoon  because I don't like leaving a mess finally I wipe the table.

(After) I brush my teeth then  I wash my face then I dry my face with a towel and then I


brush my hair and I get a hair tie so I can tie up my hair then 
I put my brush into a special place where no one can know.

(lastly,) I made my lunch and put a sandwich in my lunch and chips but today I am lucky because
my mum brought me some bakery. First she brought a sausage roll and a gingerbread man and
a whipped cream pancake with some strawberry topping

Blogging

Today I wrote two blog's. One of them was kawakawa school blog's and Tuku's I liked about Tuku's blog because she had  two different kind's of book's one of them was called  Melowy and Owl diary trip to the pumpkin farm.

Duffy Role Model

Today we went to a Duffy assembly, Jamie Wall came to visit us and talked about his job and his life. He also showed us a video. In the video, he was at a rugby game watching the All Blacks and he sat in the best seat to watch all of the rugby games. He wrote a book about All Blacks and what kind of games they play and it took him three months to write the book. He also read a book called Men in Black. I chose spirit animals book two and star friends the secret spell.

 I chose these books because they're both cool to read and I can read them to my brother and sister.

Pockets

Today in class we did pockets. So first we had to draw what is in our pocket and then we had to do our  back round I did light blue and colour in our shapes and put it on our blog.

Visual Charlie's Underpants

Today in class we did Visual Language. So first we had to write words that was on the board and the we had to copy it on our chrome book. Next we had to screenshot  it and put it on your blog.

Word Cline- Happy

Today in class we were doing a word Cline, my word Cline was happy.

Reciprocal Teaching-Gran and the Spider

Today in class we did some reading and it was super cool.So first we had to read silently and then someone in your group has to ask a question then people in your group will tell them what they think after that we took turn's of asking a question. after we have to tell them which word they got wrong and they will write it on a piece of paper. 

The Magic Ride

I went on a magic ride with my friend at the park. Her name was Tuku when we went
clockwise on the magic ride we ended up at a different park. It felt like the world
was moving, and it was. It was also blurry we tried to get back to the place we were
before but we couldn't. We tried it lots of times, but it did not work. 

We decided to try it one more time, and it worked because we went anti-clockwise, and
we made it back to the park we were in before. When we made it back to the park we
were hungry. So when we thought about food we ended up at the donuts shop, and we
wrote a secret at the donut shop about the magic ride. Then we got tired and we ended
up at home in our bed because we both thought about that place. The problem is why do
we end up in a different place when we think about that place? 

I know why because that’s what happens when you go on the magic

There are three spaceships.
They are coming to destroy our city.
A spaceship crashed. One person named Isaac went to
go get some people and put them behind the spaceship
that crashed. More spaceships are coming to fire down
on the city. They’re shooting there’s nothing the people can do
about it because there are some bombs that might kill people. 

I know why they are coming because they're trying to kill the

captain of the city. All of the soldiers won't do anything about it.
They are going to let the captain die.

Tapa Patterns

At the start of the term we were making a tapa. We had to make our own pattern for our tapa first we used pencil for the tapa we also used vivid then we dyed it and let it dry then we had to scrunch it and it felt like a soft fabric.

Today in class we did a word Cline first we had to chose out of afraid or said. I did afraid .

Read Theory

Today in class we did read theory my grade was three and two.  I am better at grade 2 and improving more towards grade 3.

Mind Lab Trip

Today in class we made a recount going to M.O.T.A.T. We went with Mrs Emma's group first and we had to go with a partner. For this activity we had to try make the light turn on and at first it was hard but at the end my partner and I got the light going. Then Mrs Emma said that my partner and I haft to try build our own kind of light and then we had to try make and piece that will attach to the light we made a piece that will attach to the light  and we got it to connected and then we went to Mrs Kenyas group.
she was making and electric car and she wanted us to make what she was making so we did not get to copy her so I used some cardboard for the body of the car. And I used a skewer and then I snap it and I put plastic wheels on the skewer before that I put a straw in between the wheels and the straw helps the wheels move. Last I put a battery pack and a propeller to help it move and helps to move the wheels  and went for a travel. My class and I saw old water pipes and then we played on the park and then we went back to school and then we went home.

Today in class I did a blog post with my partner. For target numbers, we had to put the numbers on our document. And we had to take a photo of our maths problem on our class site.`

S.T.E.A.M.- Mind Map

 Today we did a bus stop activity called S.T.E.A.M. we used lucid chart to make mind map . Steam                                      stands for Art Science Technology maths engineering.

I like lions, because they are my favorite animal. Lions hunt other animals
for their food to eat. Lions have big jaws to eat and hunt. Some lions are
fast and some are never fast. They have big claws to climb,and kill. Lions
have sharp claws to also run fast. I think that lions claws are dangerous ,
because they could hurt people. Lions come from Africa. Lions live in a
large group.Small lions cant go in large groups they go with their mum.
Lions are my favorite animal ,because they look soft ,and there mane looks
fluffy and, smooth.

Zoo Recount

Zoo Recount

YAY! I was so excited because my class room and I went to the zoo. We went to the
zoo because the Warehouse sponsored us and Richies gave us free buses. 

Before we started the learning session we went to see the Red Pandas.
Then we went to the Australia section and saw the Wallabies and Emus. There were
two emus and one was looking around and the other emu was looking after the eggs.
After that we went to see the parrot. It was called a Macaw. Then we went to South
America section and I saw Tarantulas, Spider monkeys and Alligators. 

After that we met at the education center, we went with Hohepa to see the baboons.
It had a pink bum! Then we went to see the Cheetahs. Hohepa showed us a pelt, it
still had claws and paws on it. After that we went to see the Elephants they were inside
and they were putting bark on their backs. Their names are Burma,
Anjali they’re both girls. The keeper opened one of the Elephant’s mouths. Then
Hohepa showed us an Elephant tusk and told us that people hunt Elephants for their
tusks. Then he showed us a book that was made out of elephant poo. Finally
we went to visit the flamingos they had straight and skinny legs. 

After our session with Hohepa we had lunch then we went to see the Porcupine.
Then we all met at the playground and most of the kids went on the big long slide.
My favorite part was when I went on the long slide. After going on the  playground,
we went to see the kunekune pig. They were big. After we went for one last walk
we and we saw the two lions. I also saw one lion eating their food. 

I had so much fun going to the zoo and I hope I can go with my family to the zoo one day. I think my favourite part of the day was the Elephants and the Cheetahs.

Trial and Error

Today in class we solved a number problem by using Trial and Error. We guessed a number between 1 and 10 then we did  9x3 then we did 9+8 but it didn't work then we tried 7x3 and 7+8 but it still didn't work so we tried 5x3 and 5+8 but it still didn't work then we tried 4x3 and 4+8 and it worked.

Space Learning Centre

Rhythm Interactive

Today after morning tea we went to the Rhythm Interactive show. There was a man called Johnny who was teaching us how to play the drums. Johnny was playing all kinds of instruments. We had to guess what kind of instruments and if we got it correct the school can keep seven drums for the music room.

At the Seaside

                        Our poem this week used rhyme, alliteration and a simile. Check it out here.

Zoo Trip

              At the zoo we saw flamingos. My favourite animal was the cheetah because they're fast.

Hiwi the Kiwi

 In the morning my class and I went to the Hiwi the Kiwi. I learnt that you can't keep mummy fish and daddy fish because they have to make babies. I also learnt that you have to bring a wet towel but it has  to be salt water. I also learnt that you can scare away the birds with water so they don't eat the hook. When you catch a fish you put it in your salt ice and you bring a life jacket when you go fishing. My favorite thing was when we were singing kai moana and when I saw the picture of the black petrel.

Today in class I copied Mrs Minstral's dance while Mr Minstral was singing it was so much fun.
